Fast Johnny Ricker comes to Topeka for a live performance

Fast Johnny Ricker comes to Topeka for a live performance of his latest original, psychedelic blues rock CD, titled 'Arise & Dig' on Saturday, December 20th with a release party at Uncle Bo's from 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.

Johnny has performed in Topeka many times in the past, and is returning with his own brand of melt down guitar driven material, fresh off his new CD. Kansas City blues harmonica virtuoso, John Paul Drum appears on the new release as a guest artist, as well as, former bass player, J. Operation Gratitude Benefit

Operation Gratitude, an all-volunteer organization that collects items from all over the U.S. then packages and ships the items to our troops, has donated items for 70,000 care packages to send to our troops this Christmas. The 6,000+ volunteers are preparing the packages but LACK POSTAGE money to send 50,000 of the packages. Operation Gratitude is making a nation-wide plea for donations to fund the shipping cost of the remaining packages at $10 per package.

Guy Tamburello, owner of Granny's Chicken Ranch; Blue River Ordonnance band; and Kim Smith are teaming up to co-host a benefit event to help raise postage funds for Operation Gratitude. The event will be hosted at Granny's Chicken Ranch, near Cabela's at the Village West/Legends Mall in Kansas City, Kansas, on Tuesday, Dec. 9th, 8:00-11:00 p.m. Admission is a $10 suggested donation. Additional donations above $10 will be gratefully accepted! All donations are tax-deductible and receipts are available for tax purposes.
